ProposalKit is a Chrome browser extension that helps freelancers track proposals and analytics. This policy explains what data the extension collects, how it is stored, and how it is used.

Data we collect

ProposalKit collects the following data when you use it on Upwork or Fiverr:

• Job title, category, and budget of proposals you submit
• Bid amount and number of connects used
• Publicly visible client information shown on the job page (rating, spend, hire rate)
• Cover letter length (character count only — not the content)
• Proposal status updates visible on your Upwork proposals page
• Earnings you manually log in the extension

Where data is stored

All data is stored locally on your device using Chrome's built-in chrome.storage.local API. No data is transmitted to any external server, third party, or cloud service.

ProposalKit does not have a backend that receives your proposal data. Your analytics are computed entirely within the extension on your own machine.

Data we do not collect

• Your Upwork or Fiverr login credentials
• The text content of your cover letters
• Payment information
• Browsing history outside of Upwork and Fiverr job pages
• Any personally identifiable information beyond what you voluntarily log in the earnings tracker

Pro features and OpenAI

If you use the AI Proposal Drafting Pro feature, you provide your own OpenAI API key. This key is stored locally using chrome.storage.local and is used only to make requests directly from your browser to OpenAI's API. Your API key and prompt data are never sent to ProposalKit's servers.

License key validation

If you activate a Pro license key, the extension sends that key to our server to verify its validity. No other personal data is included in this request.

Permissions used

• storage — Saves your proposal data and settings locally on your device
• alarms — Schedules a once-weekly background task to prepare your stats digest
• notifications — Delivers the weekly stats summary notification
• host permissions (upwork.com, fiverr.com) — Reads job and proposal data from pages you are actively viewing

Data retention and deletion

Your data remains on your device until you clear it. You can delete all stored data at any time by going to ProposalKit Settings and clicking "Clear all data", or by removing the extension from Chrome (which deletes all associated storage).

Children's privacy

ProposalKit is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from minors.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
